We are in love with this awesome product! Talking about how to age furniture the easy way??? This product worked beautifully. Better With Age is a very neat product! It is an Amy Howard At Home product. As Amy explains, the Amy Howard at Home Better With Age solution is not a VOC stain. It has a composition that reacts to the tannins in the wood. For best results, use it on wood that is high in tannins, like birch, oak, walnut, cherry, etc.

We have had this table for years. It actually came over from Germany on a container. It sat in our sun room for years and got really faded and dried out. The table is made out of oak wood. I really got sick of looking at it, but didn't want to paint it. I went back and fourth for a while, but then decided to go for it!

Hubby is not very good with change, I guess that can be a good thing, after all, we have been married for almost 35 year. I was a little naughty and didn't get permission to work on the table. But I did get caught in the middle of the process and he was not real happy with me. As we watched the solution start doing it's thing, he got less and less upset. The out come was surprising to both of us. We are both in love with this table transformation. The best part of the whole thing, we both learned how to age furniture the easy way.

Since this video was made, I tried it on different wood surfaces. I did learn that it's not as effective on pine. Pine is not high in tannins. Adding multiple coats with letting it dry in between did give it an aged look. I would probably suggest trying it on a sample piece of pine before trying it on a piece of pine furniture. Birch, oak, walnut, cherry do give you the best results as they are high in tannins.

In conclusion, I definitely learned how to age wood the easy way! For best results, use it on wood with high tannins like birch, oak, walnut, cherry. I also learned that I should not try out a new technique on a piece of furniture my hubby loves, without permission!
